Simon Dow’s horses are going well at present, with four of the Epsom trainer’s nine runners in the past four weeks winning. That figure includes PABLO DEL PUEBLO, who posted a career-best effort when scoring over C&D earlier in the month from Man On A Mission.
He’s 4lb higher now, but did well to win despite a wide passage last time, and looked well suited by the return to 5f after a couple of efforts where he didn’t quite get home over an extra furlong.
Pablo del Pueblo is better drawn here, which offsets concerns about his revised mark, and he appears capable of better form given the right set-up, which he looks to have here – although he has won over 6f in the past, his very best form has come at the minimum trip on Polytrack, with form figures in such conditions of 121.
His main rivals for early supremacy are drawn outside him, which confers a tactical advantage, and he should make a bold bid to follow up.
