4:10 Ludlow – Lounge Lizard
Being big fans of Henry Daly and given he’s clearly the finest trainer in the land at present, his Lounge Lizard makes plenty of appeal on his handicap debut today.
I was initially a little disappointed with his Huntingdon effort last time, but on viewing it again I’m happy to give him a pass for it, as he was badly hampered when favourite Last Royal came down three out, and as he was gathering himself back up, winner Gentleman At Arms was quickening away around the final bend, and he found himself with too much to do.
Besides, it’s not as if that form hasn’t worked out, with the winner placed at Grade 2 and Listed level on his subsequent starts. A mark of 115 looks perfectly workable, and a small step up in trip looks a good move too.
