Here’s today’s selection

3:35 Kelso – Dancewiththewind

DANCEWITHTHEWIND makes obvious appeal in the Subscribe To Racing TV Now Handicap Hurdle. Running in the colours of Geoff and Elspeth Adam – veterans on the Scottish scene who won some big prizes with Pat’s Jester some 30 years ago – he is trained by Harriet Graham and Gary Rutherford, who also have the popular Aye Right for the Adams.

Off for almost exactly two years after winning his first two starts in handicap hurdles, Dancewiththewind has needed a couple of spins to get him back to peak fitness, but he looked better than ever when winning a 14-runner event at Wetherby on Boxing Day by 1½ lengths from Brentford Hope. That race went under the radar on a very busy day, but it looked a strongly contested event for the grade, and that notion has been backed up by subsequent results, with no fewer than five of the unplaced horses winning next time out.

It’s clear that Dancewiththewind is back in top form after his forced lay-off, and the handicapper’s decision to raise him just 3lb for that 25/1 success looks very generous in retrospect, and he looks a tremendous bet to follow up against rivals who have a bit to prove for one reason or another.
