3:55 Nottingham – Cherry Cola

Some ultra-competitive racing at Nottingham as the “Grassroots” series reaches its climax. Most of the races look a bit too competitive for our tastes, but the stayers final has a nice shape to it, and we can row in again with CHERRY COLA, who almost landed us a good-priced winner over hurdles when she ran at Plumpton a couple of weeks ago.

We pointed out on that occasion that she seems to have improved for a step up in trip on the Flat, and to that end, her form at Nottingham over 14f reads 152, all of it on ground good or better, which is what she will encounter today.

When she was second to Alpine Stroll here earlier in the year, beaten two lengths, she was giving that one a pound, yet finds herself in receipt of 15lb today, which ought to be more than enough to turn the tables.

Expect a patient ride from Rose Dawes, creeping into this from the home turn, and she ought to be in the frame at worst again.
